Life at Asurion

Reflecting on Veterans Day

Observed on November 11, Veterans Day honors military veterans and marks the anniversary of the end of World War I at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.

We are privileged to have many veterans as part of the Asurion family. This Veterans Day we would like to share the thoughts of a few of the more than 550 veterans working at Asurion.  And say, “Thank you” to all Veterans for their contribution to ensure our freedom.

What does Veterans Day mean to you?
Veterans Day to me is one of the most significant and memorable days of the year. It causes me to pause and reflect on my own service time, my buddies whom I miss all the time, my family’s collection of veterans, and thanking all those who have ever served to protect this country.

What does Veterans Day mean to you?
Veterans Day means a time to reflect on my service in the U.S. Navy. I feel honored to have flown many missions in the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf with many talented men and women. Overall, my service impacted my perspective about my place in the world and how fortunate we are to be Americans. Thanks to my fellow Asurion veterans who also served!

What does Veterans Day mean to you?
Veterans Day represents a portion of my life that I gladly dedicated to our country; the foundation, the people, the freedoms, and our future. It’s also a day for me to remember my own family members who have done the same. Most importantly, Veterans Day honors the soldiers that have given the ultimate sacrifice—their life—so that all of our citizens can reside in a country that allows us the freedom and protection to live this life however we choose.

What does Veterans Day mean to you?
Veterans Day means that I have a day that I can reflect on, in which I am in a select group of individuals who served their country proudly and honorably, and in return we hold no regrets in that decision. Veterans Day allows me to rekindle the thoughts, images experienced, friendships made, hard times through tough times, places explored, protection provided and professional maturity it gave to me to grow in to the person I am today. Veterans Day allows me to understand the world better and connect with the young soldiers around the world who are currently serving in harm’s way and those that aren’t, and knowing all veterans gave it their all and are ready, able and willing to sacrifice whatever is necessary for their brothers and sister in the Arm Forces today and in the past to protect this great country, the United States of America.

What does Veterans Day mean to you?
Veterans Day to me is a time to recognize all service men and women. It is a time to show our respects to the people that took the oath to defend this country and protect our people! I continue to do it for the people I love and the love I have for my country!
