Best Apps for College Students

Best apps for College students FeatureBeing in college means you’re going to be moving around all the time. Whether it’s going to study groups for class, walking around campus or even just hanging out with friends, your phone is always with you, and serves as your primary source of information. Here are some apps every college student needs  to stay updated on the move:

My Class Schedule

With assignments, projects and exams for each class it can be hard to keep track of what’s due and where your group project is meeting. This app is every student’s dream come true. The color coded class scheduler easily tells you where you’re supposed to be when and sends you alerts when assignments are due. The app will even mute your phone when you’re scheduled to be in class and syncs your information to multiple devices so you can check what’s due on your computer too.

Mint

Everyone knows the tale of the broke college student. This app helps you keep track of all your expenses, purchases and create a budget so you know exactly how much money you have to spend and where you can spend it. It can even break your budget into categories like books, food or even coffee.

ESPN Scorecenter

This app will keep you completely updated on all things sports at all times. You can even set it up to send you a text every time something happens in a game or event with your favorite teams.

You can sort the articles by category or source so it’s easy to get the news your interested in at that moment. Mark articles as read after you’ve checked it out, making it easy to read the latest news between classes or in the dining hall.

Pandora Radio

You can create separate stations for studying, working out or heading out for the night. If you are connecting over your carrier’s network vs. the Wi-Fi, you will want to watch your data usage.  Mom won’t be so happy to find huge data charges at the end of the month because you’ve been streaming music over the carrier’s network.

TV Guide

Most students have trouble remembering the TV channels at home, let alone having to remember an entire new set of channels at school. This app can find your school’s TV provider and give you the TV guide with all the stations and show listings so you never miss your favorite episodes.

These apps cover the planning, budgeting, entertainment and sports needs every college student faces. Don’t see your favorite app on this list? Let us know below- we’d love to check it out!
