It’s easy to think it won’t happen to you, but with 80 million phones lost, stolen or damaged each year, chances are yours will be one of them. And in the event something terrible does happen (like your adorable new puppy uses it as a chew toy) you could be stuck with a pretty hefty replacement bill. Most people don’t realize it, but the average cost a new smartphone (without the 2-year contract) is around $475 dollars. Wouldn’t you rather spend that on new chew toys for the pup?
There are some particularly risky times of the year where more phones are lost, stolen or damaged than any other, with New Years Eve, 4th of July and Halloween ranking in the top three.
