SVP General Manager, Client Services, Chuck Stewart Award winner

How long have you been with Asurion and what brought you here?

I don’t know the official number but will say 17 years. I left a finance role at General Motors in 2004, came back to Nashville for my MBA, and started as an intern with Asurion Managed Wireless. I heard great things about Asurion from people I trust, and after GM I was looking for a smaller, more entrepreneurial culture. After I finished school in 2006 I joined full time.

What does your job entail?

As part of Client Services, our teams own the program strategy and client relationships for Verizon products and Verizon captive insurance. We drive the performance of existing Verizon services and the roadmap for future program innovation. I have been in this role since late 2021, and it’s an amazing team. In prior jobs I was fortunate enough to work across many functions in Operations, which was a valuable way to learn the business from the ground up.

What have been your biggest accomplishments on your team?

The way the team navigated the past two years is inspiring. Every day is a new challenge, yet our client relationships are strong, and we recently redesigned our Verizon programs to bring more value to customers, Verizon, and Asurion. And in February 2022 we executed an agreement to sell Verizon 5G FWA (fixed wireless access) internet during our service interactions, a critical step to deliver on an Asurion enterprise priority (Serve, Solve, Sell) while supporting a key Verizon growth strategy.

Relationships matter more than anything, and long-term fulfillment and personal growth come from a genuine, daily focus on making your team and everyone around you successful, rather than yourself.

What’s the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Relationships matter more than anything, and long-term fulfillment and personal growth come from a genuine, daily focus on making your team and everyone around you successful, rather than yourself.

What’s a fun fact about you that people may not know?

I was born in Hong Kong, and through Asurion had the opportunity to work and live in Hong Kong and Tokyo for 7 years. It was so cool to be able to return to HK with Asurion, and working with our teams in Asia was an invaluable learning and leadership experience. I left with several lifelong friendships

Time for a wild card. What’s your favorite cereal, travel destination, TV show, book, or what’s something you can’t live without and why?

I’m an avid trail runner, which connects well with my passion for traveling. Trail running helps me stay active, challenge myself, explore new places in a unique way, and generally get out into nature. I’ve had amazing experiences with runs and races, and as some know a few incredibly epic fails (that make for great stories)!
