Nashville-Based Asurion Continues Expansion

Adding 800 Premier Support Solutions Technicians In New Nashville Facility

Growing demand for personal technology assistance is driving Asurion, the leading provider of comprehensive technology solutions and protection plans, to expand its Nashville operations.  The company announced today it will be opening a Premier Support Solutions Center, located at 5720 Crossings Boulevard in Nashville.  The Center will house 800 highly-skilled, personal technology support technicians, in addition to management and operational professionals. The Center is expected to open in early 2014.

“Partnering with our clients, we help millions of consumers every year solve mobile phone and consumer electronics issues,” said Sue Nokes, Asurion Senior Vice President, Customer Solutions. “Consumers are looking for a single, expert source to help resolve issues with their mobile devices and to get the most out of their technology investments.  We are pleased to continue growing our operation in Nashville and providing premier support solutions for our clients and consumers.”

In expanding its local footprint, Asurion  is partnering with the State of Tennessee, Davidson County, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the Nashville Chamber of Commerce.

“It is especially good news when existing Tennessee companies make the decision to grow and expand here,” Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam said.  “We are grateful to Asurion for making this investment and creating 800 new highly-skilled jobs in Nashville.”

The new Premier Support Solutions Center becomes the most recent addition to Asurion’s growing Nashville presence, which began with the company relocating its global headquarters in 2003.  In early 2012 Asurion selected downtown’s five-story Ragland Building for its technology products operations.

“Asurion’s continued investments in Nashville are a testament to the city’s talented workforce, business-friendly environment and high quality of life,” Mayor Karl Dean said. “Metro has made significant investments in services and infrastructure in Southeast Davidson County. We are particularly pleased to see this and other private investments continuing the momentum in such a vibrant part of our city.”

“TVA congratulates Asurion on this major expansion, which adds hundreds of new quality jobs in the Nashville area,” said TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley. “TVA and Nashville Electric Service appreciate the opportunity to work with the economic development partners and assist Asurion in its continuing commitment to the growth and prosperity of our region.”

“Asurion’s decision to expand operations in Nashville is a reflection of their successful business strategy and the prosperous business environment of Middle Tennessee,” said Ralph Schulz, president and CEO of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Their investment in the newly branded Crossings area will support the continued growth and development of South Nashville.”

Including its Grassmere Park global headquarters and the new Crossings facility, Asurion has five offices in Davidson County.  Other offices are located in the So-Bro area of downtown, One Century near the airport and additional office space in Grassmere.  The new facility is 122,000 square feet, leased from American Health Properties, Inc.  With the new location, Asurion will occupy 557,473 square feet in Davidson County.

As mobile devices and electronics form complex networks of connected, smart technologies, Asurion’s Premier Support Solutions brings together the fragmented technical support market, by providing consumers with a single, knowledgeable resource for technical assistance, regardless of device or operating system.
