Check if the App Store is hidden
If you don’t see the App Store on your iPhone, it may just be hidden. Try these steps to bring it back:
- Swipe down on your Home screen and search for App Store. Once the icon appears, press and hold it, then drag it to your Home screen to make it more accessible.
- Look in the App Library. To open the App Library, scroll to the right on your last home page. This view shows all installed apps, even if they’re not on your main screens.
- Check your folders. The App Store may be in a folder labeled Utilities or Apple Apps. Open and scroll through each one to be sure.

Review Screen Time and restriction settings
Another reason the App Store might disappear is that it’s been restricted in your settings. To re-enable it:
- Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions
- Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases > Installing Apps
- If Don’t Allow is selected, choose Allow instead
Restart your iPhone to apply the new setting. After that, the App Store should be visible again. You can also return to Screen Time settings to manage other app permissions.
Reset your Home screen layout
If the App Store still doesn’t appear, try resetting your Home screen layout:
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone
- Tap Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout
- Confirm by tapping Reset Home Screen again
This won’t delete your apps or data. It just restores your Home screen to Apple’s default layout, which includes the App Store icon.
Update iOS and restart your iPhone
If your iPhone is running an outdated version of iOS, that could cause the App Store to glitch or go missing. To update:
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update
- Select Update Now or Update Tonight if one is available
- Once it’s installed, restart your device and check for the App Store icon
