Your PS5 can check for and install updates on its own when it’s connected to the internet and in Rest Mode.
- Go to Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings.
- Turn on Download Update Files Automatically and Install Update Files Automatically.
- Go back to Settings > System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode.
- Turn on Stay Connected to the Internet.
Your PS5 will now install updates in the background while in Rest Mode.
