What’s new in the iOS 18 Mail app?

The Mail app in iOS 18 introduces helpful tools that simplify how you organize and respond to email. Here’s a breakdown of the new features:

Smart inbox categories

Your inbox is now automatically divided into sections like Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions, making it easier to focus on important messages first. These categories are powered by on-device intelligence, so your emails stay private and secure.

Email scheduling

You can now schedule an email to send later, whether you want it to go out first thing in the morning or during business hours.

Follow-up reminders

If you send an email and don’t hear back, the Mail app may remind you to follow up after a few days—so nothing slips through the cracks.

Quick reply suggestions

When you receive a short, simple message, Mail can suggest quick replies—like “Sounds good” or “Thank you”—that you can send with a tap.
