Check basic audio settings
Start by checking your device’s audio settings. It may seem basic, but you’d be surprised how often this is the culprit when the audio is not working on Netflix.
If you’re watching Netflix on your iPhone® using the speakers, for example, make sure your phone volume is turned up. You should see the volume change inside the Netflix app as you adjust it with your phone’s volume buttons. If the volume’s on mute, you’ll see a megaphone symbol with an X next to it.
On your TV, use the remote control for your TV or streaming device to adjust the volume. Hit the mute button to confirm your TV’s not on mute. If you’re using external headphones or speakers, disconnect them to see if the sound’s working through the device’s built-in speakers.
On the Netflix video you’re watching, go to Audio & Subtitles, which has a speech bubble icon. You may be able to switch between English [Original] (5.1) and English [Original], which can help with audio issues.
