Mount a camera on the ceiling, open the app, and suddenly the room looks like gravity has called in sick. An upside-down Blink™ camera view is usually more of an orientation problem than a camera problem.

Flip the video in the Blink app

On supported Blink Mini models, open the Blink app and go to More > Device Settings > Video and Photo Settings > Flip Video.

Turn Flip Video on, then open Live View again. Blink includes that option specifically for cameras mounted on ceilings or overhead surfaces, where the camera may physically sit upside down.

If the picture is sideways, adjust the mount

Flip Video handles an upside-down image by turning it 180 degrees. If the view is rotated sideways, reposition the camera or mount instead.

Check Live View before changing anything else

If Live View is right-side up but the image on the Home screen still looks wrong, the camera orientation may already be fixed and the thumbnail simply hasn’t caught up.

Refresh the camera view in the app and check a new Live View or clip before moving the mount again. That keeps a stale preview from sending the screwdriver back to work unnecessarily.

No Flip Video setting? Leave the software alone

Not every Blink model exposes the same orientation controls. If Flip Video doesn’t appear in that camera’s video settings, physically orienting the camera correctly is the cleaner fix.

Update the Blink app first in case the menus are outdated, then use the mount to get the image upright. There’s no reason to factory reset a working camera just because an orientation option isn’t available.
