A calendar on the Echo Show® is handy because you don't have to go looking for it. One glance can tell you what's happening next—until the calendar suddenly disappears and you're back to asking everyone what time that appointment was.

Ask Alexa what's on your calendar

Before changing the display, ask, "Alexa, what's on my calendar today?" If Alexa reads your events correctly, that's an important clue. Your calendar is probably still linked, and we'd focus on what the Echo Show is displaying rather than reconnecting the account.

If Alexa can't find your events either, check the calendar connection next.

Make sure the right calendar is linked

Open the Alexa app and go to More > Settings > Calendar. Check that the Google, Microsoft, Apple, or other supported calendar account you use is still connected and that the correct calendar is selected.

This is especially worth checking if you've recently:

• Changed an account password.
• Added another calendar.
• Switched Google or Microsoft accounts.
• Changed which calendar you use for new events.

If the account needs attention, reconnect it and ask Alexa™ about today's schedule again before changing anything on the Echo Show.

Check what's showing on the home screen

A linked calendar doesn't necessarily mean Alexa will keep a calendar card visible on the home screen.

Open your Echo Show's Settings and look for Home Content. If calendar content has been turned off, switch it back on and return to the home screen.

Restart the Echo Show if the calendar is linked but missing

If Alexa knows your schedule and the calendar display is turned on, but nothing appears on screen, we'd give the Echo Show a restart before unlinking accounts.

Unplug it for about 30 seconds, reconnect it, and let the home screen fully load. Then ask Alexa for your calendar again and see whether the display catches up.

Reconnect a calendar that's stopped syncing

A calendar that shows old events but ignores new ones usually makes us more suspicious of syncing than the Echo Show itself.

In the Alexa app, return to More > Settings > Calendar, select the connected account, and reconnect it if needed. Then create or check a recent event and ask Alexa to read your schedule.

If the updated event appears, you've refreshed the connection without having to reset anything else.

Check the Echo Show's connection

When the calendar isn't the only thing that's stale, we'd look beyond the calendar. Weather that won't refresh, sluggish Alexa responses, or other home-screen information that's out of date can all point toward Wi-Fi.

Make sure the software is current

Echo devices normally update automatically, so we'd save this check until after confirming the account, display settings, and connection. Ask, "Alexa, check for software updates," and leave the Echo Show connected to power and Wi-Fi while it checks.
