New Cricket Wireless Trade-In Program Lets Customers Earn Account Credit Anytime

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – April 7, 2025 – Cricket Wireless and Asurion are expanding their longstanding collaboration to include simple, anytime trade-in options for Cricket customers. New and existing Cricket customers can now earn service credits on their account by trading in old cellphones at any time – not just when purchasing a new device or starting a new service.

Customers can access the trade-in portal online or at any Cricket Wireless store, no appointment needed. The trade-in process is simple and quick, providing customers with a clear, immediate offer based on the model and condition of their device. Asurion will ship a prepaid shipping envelope to the customer who can simply return their phone through the US Postal Service. Customers can check the trade-in value for any model phone at any time, and there is no limit to the number of devices a customer can trade in.

Trade-in devices are shipped to Asurion’s Technology Logistics Center in Tennessee, where each device is securely wiped, inspected, and evaluated for its “next best use,” which may include reuse, sale, liquidation, or (in rare cases) recycling via an R2 and e-Stewards certified recycling partner.
