Walmart Canada launches Walmart Extended Care with Asurion

Customers now receive an extra year of extended warranty coverage on certain electronics purchased at Walmart – at no extra cost.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — May 27, 2026 — Peace of mind — now included. Customers purchasing select electronics from Walmart Canada will now benefit from Walmart Extended Care, a free extended warranty program available for televisions, laptops and desktops. Tech support starts the day of purchase and lasts for two years.

Powered by Asurion, a leading global tech care provider, the new program provides customers with an extra year of extended warranty coverage, bilingual 24/7 automated tech support and a simple online claims process at no additional cost.

Walmart Extended Care is designed to keep things simple, with three key benefits:

  • Extended warranty coverage. Get two years of total defect coverage, including Walmart Extended Care’s additional year after the manufacturer’s warranty ends.
  • Troubleshooting assistance, anytime. Access 24/7 bilingual tech support through an automated assistant. Quick, easy and available whenever help is needed.
  • Fast and easy claims. File a claim online during the coverage period at asurion.com/walmartextended.

This new program builds on our existing Walmart Protection Plan program, powered by Asurion, which provides worry-free protection on TVs for 3 years and on Laptops and Desktops for 2 years. Plans start at $14.97. When a Walmart Protection plan is purchased, customers get 4 or 5 years of coverage for eligible products.
