Echo Show keeps restarting? Fixes to stop the reboot loop
⚡ Fast fix
- Watch for the Amazon logo—That confirms a real reboot, not just a screen refresh.
- Check the power first—A loose adapter can make software look guilty.
- Try a different outlet—Keep the test simple and direct to the wall.

Your Echo Show® flashes the Amazon logo, loads for a bit, then starts over. Once is a restart. Over and over is a problem—and power is the first thing worth ruling out.
At Asurion, we help people troubleshoot connected displays every day. An Amazon Echo Show that keeps restarting can be dealing with unstable power, a software issue, or a deeper device problem, and the timing of the reboot usually gives you the best clue.
Confirm that the Echo Show is really rebooting
A true restart sends the device through its startup sequence and usually shows the Amazon logo again.
If the screen simply goes dark, changes Home cards, or leaves Photo Frame while Alexa™ still answers immediately, the issue may be limited to the display rather than a full reboot.
If the screen freezes without restarting, our guide to fixing a frozen Echo Show is a better fit.
Check the power adapter and outlet
Unplug the Echo Show and inspect the power cable and adapter for obvious damage or a loose connection. Then plug it directly into a known-good wall outlet instead of a power strip or switched extension cord.
Use the correct compatible adapter for the model. If the Echo Show restarts whenever the cord gets nudged, that’s a strong clue the problem is in the power path rather than Wi-Fi.
Give the Echo Show a clean restart
Leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds, then reconnect it and let Home fully load. Avoid launching a bunch of features immediately.
If the device stays on until you open one specific feature, that pattern points more toward software or a service issue than unstable power.
Disconnect Bluetooth and extra connections
Temporarily disconnect Bluetooth speakers, headphones, or phones and test the Echo Show in its simplest setup: power, Wi-Fi, built-in display, and built-in speaker.
If the restarts stop, reconnect accessories one at a time until the problem returns.
Check Wi-Fi only after power looks stable
Wi-Fi trouble usually causes offline messages and slow content, not a full power reboot. Still, once the Echo Show stays on, test a few online features to make sure the connection is healthy.
Our guide to fixing Alexa internet connection problems can help if the device is staying powered but struggling online.
Update the Echo Show software
If the device stays on long enough, check for software updates in Settings > Device Options or the equivalent menu for your model.
Keep the Echo Show on stable power while the update installs. A restart during an update can be normal; repeated rebooting after the update is not.
Factory reset only after the simpler checks
If the Echo Show keeps rebooting with the correct adapter on a good outlet after restarts and updates, a factory reset becomes more reasonable. Our guide to factory resetting an Echo Show explains what gets removed and how to set the device up again.

FAQ
Why does my Echo Show keep restarting?
Start with power. A loose connection, bad outlet, or adapter issue can cause repeated reboots. Software can also be involved.
Why is my Echo Show stuck on the Amazon logo?
Disconnect power, reconnect it with the correct adapter, and give the device time to complete startup before moving to a reset.
Can an Echo Show restart during an update?
Yes. A restart can be part of an update, but repeated rebooting afterward needs troubleshooting.
Should I factory reset an Echo Show that keeps rebooting?
Only after you’ve checked power, restarted the device, and tried any available software update.
