How to set up a VPN using a PC

- On your PC, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile hotspot.
- Turn on Share my internet connection.

- Under the Sharing tab, check Allow other network users to connect.
- Choose your Ethernet connection from the dropdown and select OK.
- On your Xbox, go to Settings > General > Network settings, then select Test network connection to confirm it’s working.
How to set up a VPN through your router
Using a VPN-enabled router protects every device on your network—including your Xbox.
- Log into your router’s admin panel (check your router label or manual).
- Look for VPN settings (your router must support this feature).
- Enter your VPN details from your provider.
- Save the changes and restart the router.
- Connect your Xbox to the network through Settings > General > Network settings > Set up wireless network.

Use a Smart DNS as an alternative
Some VPN services offer Smart DNS settings to help unblock content without full encryption or speed loss.
- Log into your VPN account on their website.
- Register your IP address and activate Smart DNS.

- Change from Automatic to Manual, then enter the DNS addresses from your VPN provider.
