We’ll ask you a few questions to give you an estimated trade-in value for your device. If you accept, we’ll send you prepaid shipping materials. We'll then confirm the details you provided about your device.

You must be the rightful owner of the device you wish to trade in. Devices currently active on a payment plan are not eligible for trade-in until the agreement is paid in full. Additionally, devices must not be lost or stolen and should be free from activation locks and any carrier finance restrictions.

Trade-in is available anytime for eligible customers.

Please do not send any accessories with your device. Any accessories received will not be returned. Be sure to remove any SD cards or SIM cards as well.

Once your device is shipped, we cannot ship your device back, except in limited circumstances where its value after inspection is lower than the estimated value. Upon receipt, Asurion will inspect your device to verify the information you provided. If the trade-in value is less than the estimated value, you’ll receive an email or SMS with the revised value. You’ll have 14 days to cancel the trade-in if you do not agree with the lower value.

Typically, the credit will appear in your Cricket Wireless account 2 weeks after you send in your device and we verify its value. You can use this credit to cover service charges on your account. If you have multiple lines, the credit will be distributed among all active lines. Please note that if you cancel your account, any unused credit is unearned and won't be available for future use.

Before trading in your device, make sure it’s paid off and unlocked. Please note that you are responsible for transferring your current service to a different device. Remember to remove the SIM card (if applicable) and any accessories. Don’t forget to back up your data and disable any locks or passwords, including the Find My® feature.
