The list of covered devices depends on your wireless provider’s specific cellular phone insurance program. Here are some examples of typical covered devices: feature phones, smartphones, tablets, netbooks/notebooks, laptop connect cards (data cards and mi-fi devices).

Popular feature phones and smartphones from most major manufacturers (e.g. Apple® iPhone®, Samsung Galaxy®) are eligible for coverage.

Asurion, like most insurance programs, requires that you pay a deductible at the time a claim is filed. We try to keep our deductible amount as affordable as possible. Please note that in most cases, the deductible is far less than the full retail price that you would pay for a new smartphone outside of contract renewal.

To enroll, please call or visit your wireless provider to see if you are eligible. Typically, you are only eligible to enroll if you are within 30 days of activating or upgrading your device. Be sure to have the make and model of your device available, and have a method of payment for your deductible on hand. After you submit your claim, you should receive an email with tracking and shipping information.

An Asurion Tech Care plan (also referred to as an extended service plan [ESP] or extended service contract [ESC]) provides coverage for phones, home tech, and major appliances above and beyond the terms and life of a manufacturer’s warranty. When a covered device breaks or stops working, we'll repair, replace, or reimburse you for your device. Upgrade options to replace your device may also be available to you for an additional fee.
