At Asurion, spending a work day volunteering is not unusual. From collecting food to stuffing backpacks, giving back is part of who we are.
Here’s a look at what employees are doing in their communities this season:
Supporting education
More than 25 Asurion employees got dirty so kids at a Nashville, Tennessee, elementary school could get dirtier this November. Employees spent about six hours digging, hauling and hammering to construct a modern, safe playground for KIPP Nashville College Prep Elementary school.
“We learned that when you work together towards a common goal, you can accomplish a lot in a quick timeframe,” Lisa Fox, an Asurion Risk Process Manager, said.
Not only are employees building playgrounds to support education, but they are also filling backpacks for children in need.
At our One Century office in Nashville, team members helped more than 9,000 students receive school supplies through a backpack drive. At our Sterling, Virginia, office, employees collected and filled them with food.
During Sterling’s week of volunteering, team members also collected 22 eyeglasses, approximately 250 diapers, and three large boxes of non-perishable goods, clothing and cleaning supplies.
Feeding the hungry
At our Moncton, New Brunswick office in Canada, employees recently collected 1,800 cans of soup to distribute to local food banks.
And in Houston, Texas, team members decided to share holiday cheer with preschoolers. They decorated more than 300 lunch bags for Kids Meals Houston, creating a colorful holiday meal experience for children in need.
Whether employees spent their day or lunch break volunteering, their efforts continue to help change lives.
