How To Set Up Android Pay on Your Smartphone

Today your smartphone can serve as your wallet—with secure payment solutions that connect straight to your credit card. If you have an Android smartphone, follow the steps below to set up Android Pay, and you can enjoy quick and easy, hands-free purchasing. You’ll just need to bring your device close to the payment terminal when you’re buying something, and your card data will transfer to the store.  Here are the steps we at Asurion provide to our support services customers:

Ensure NFC (Near Field Communication) Is Enabled

  1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Connections.
  4. Tap NFC.
  5. Toggle NFC on.

Set Up Android Pay

  1. From the home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Android Pay. (If you don’t see this app listed, install it from the Google Play store.)
  3. Sign in with Gmail account if necessary. (Note: If there is already an existing card after signing in, tap Add another card.)
  4. Tap, SET IT UP.
  5. For a new card, tap ‘+’ in the bottom-right corner. If you already have a card associated with your Gmail account, it will ask you to confirm a few details.
  6. Use the camera to capture the card info or enter information manually. If you need to update the information, remove the card and add the card back.
  7. Scroll down and tap Save.
