Asurion is proud of its Great Place to Work recognition, and now there’s another honor to celebrate – it’s a top place to land for interns.
Asurion was named to WayUp’s 2018 Top 100 Internship Programs list. WayUp helps students and recent graduates find jobs. More than 25,000 interns nationwide nominated their companies.
This list validates Asurion’s internship program as a unique opportunity for hands-on experience. Asurion interns aren’t getting coffee or making copies, they’re working on real projects that are focused on achieving overall business goals.
All companies in the Top 100 pay their interns and have an intern-to-hire percentage ranging anywhere from 20% to 90%. Asurion boasts a percentage that’s higher than the national average.
Asurion shares the honor with companies like Google, Facebook and Bank of America. Each of those companies accepts more than 1,500 interns for the summer, while Asurion purposefully keeps its intern numbers low.
“Because our program is 40-50 interns versus the large numbers from other companies, I know that we’re delivering a high touch and very intimate program,” University Relations Manager Kellye said. “The talent we bring is very specific to Asurion and I know the culture fit is key for us. This is a huge win and we’re very excited about it.”
Sam, an intern with the Soluto product team, said the hands-on experience is what he was hungry for. “We spend so much of our time, 20-something years, just trying to get ready to do something and never having an impact,” said Sam. “I’ve been here for a couple of months and I’ve had an impact. I’m a part of a product that’ll launch that helps people lead better lives. I think that’s something college students are hungry for.”
