We see our differences as a competitive advantage and ensure every person has a chance to contribute, innovate, and succeed.
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are designed to promote inclusivity and bring under-represented team members together. Their impact at Asurion is growing:
- ERG members stayed with Asurion longer and had a nearly 50% higher retention rate than nonmembers.
- Our newest ERG, Indian Descendant Employees and Allies (IDEA) launched in 2021.
- Membership in our ERGs grew by more than a hundred members from 2020 to 2021.
Employee Resource Groups are the foundation of our commUnity
Our employee-led groups are powerful tools, providing personal and professional development opportunities, advocacy, community involvement, and networking. Select each ERG logo to learn more about what it accomplished in 2021.
Getting involved in leadership roles with Asurion’s ERGs has helped grow my professional development and my network in an organic way. My involvement with WIN and HOLA not only expanded the skills I needed to transition into my new role but also show my current skillset to leaders who may not otherwise have seen the work I do day-to-day.
— Helena Arias, HR Program Manager
Being a leader for the Young Professionals ERG has helped me network with individuals who are passionate about the same things as I am. Being in an ERG is very inclusive and has allowed me to share and learn things that has a huge impact on my career here at Asurion.
— Philip Phandanouvong, Manager, Network Support Center
I’ve been an HOLA ERG leader for the past two years, and the experience and exposure of being on this team is amazing. It has given me the opportunity to participate in high-level meetings, see things with a leadership mentality, and apply my knowledge to make things happen. I’m so happy and blessed to be part of this amazing group of ERG leaders.
— Victor Quintero, Sr. Product Engineer, New Product Introduction Tech II
I moved to a new team in April 2021. During this time, I was also on the leadership team of a new ERG called IDEA. It was an easy transition, and being an ERG leader played a role. ERGs provide very good opportunities to learn, lead, and execute. And we have the DEI team to guide and support at each step.
— Nishma Gupta, Principal Software Engineer, Horizon
Being an ERG Leader has given me the opportunity to network within Asurion, as well as gain a lot of exposure to different roles across our organization. It has sharpened my presentation and interview skills, which provided me the opportunity to move from an In-Store Operations Manager role to a uBreakiFix Franchise Consultant role.
— Brett Allen, Franchise Support Consultant
My work with the BEST ERG has helped me gain and strengthen skills in community outreach partnerships and event management and apply those skills to IT initiatives and other efforts in the company. It has also provided visibility to my successes, and I appreciate the continued encouragement and empowerment I get from working with this team.
— Cassie Bush, Project Manager 2, USNVL
As the first of its kind in the state of Tennessee, our apprenticeship program is truly making an impact not only at Asurion but in the community.
In 2021, we added the Product Design Apprenticeship alongside our award-winning Software Engineering Apprenticeship. These programs provide free hands-on, technical training for frontline employees to advance and transition into our professional careers.
