Asurion, the global leader in technology solutions services, is the first Nashville-based company to join the growing coalition pledging to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Asurion CEO Tony Detter signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™, committing to cultivate Asurion as a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected, and where employees feel encouraged to discuss diversity and inclusion. Detter is one of more than 400 CEOs who signed the pledge, and have already shared more than 400 best known actions, exchanging tangible learning opportunities and creating collaborative conversations via the initiative’s unified hub, CEOAction.com.
“Asurion is committed to fostering an environment where our employees across the globe feel safe and supported in their different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives,” Detter said. “To continue to drive innovation, engage our diverse teams, and provide the best customer experience possible on behalf of our partners, we have made a commitment to each other, and now the public to do all we can to drive a culture of inclusion.
“I’m thrilled at how open our leaders have been to making real change, and how excited and trusting our employees have been as we’ve tackled sensitive issues to drive progress.”
Asurion’s commitment has driven the creation of many initiatives supporting diversity and inclusion, including:
- A multi-faceted #BeBold campaign to engage employees in driving everyday actions and discussions that promote inclusion and diminish bias;
- Robust support for LGBT employees, including a Gender Transition Guide for transitioning employees, team leaders, HR partners and employees to help ensure a positive gender transition for all in the workplace; and
- Unconscious bias education, which started with company leadership and is made available to managers through Leadership seminars. The training will be available to all employees starting in 2019.
CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion is cultivating a new type of ecosystem centered around collaboration and sharing.
